    Want to review Maternity Support Vest?

    I am now 28 weeks and I have found this vest very comfortable and supportive (admittedly I haven't really had any back or muscular problems so far). I am usually a size 8 pre-pregnancy for tops but opted for a medium as it looked so small. However, it is extremely stretchy so maybe small would have been fine.

    It is a nice vest that shapes the body beautifully. However, I had to cut the bottom edge of the vest as it was extremely tight for me and it was triggering pain in my bump (I have been suffering with low abdominal pain through out the pregnancy and I couldn't cope with anything tight in that lower area).

    I didn't find these vests supportive enough, I was recommended then buy a friend but they didn't help, my tummy muscles have split considerably and my physio suggested a tubigrib (which is incredibly tight!) and it's done the trick I feel I can survive the rest of my pregnancy now! So perhaps it gives enough support for those without split tummy muscles.

    Absolutely love this! So comfortable and supporting for my 28 week bump. I'm usually a dress size 8 and bought a small and when first trying it on I thought it might be a bit tight but once on it was perfect and supports brilliantly in all the right places. I purchased a maternity support belt at the same time and after trying it on once I decided I much preferred the support vest, wish I would of ordered a second vest instead now. Definitely highly recommend.

    With the first pregnancy I was debating whether to buy it or not and unfortunately haven't bought it then but decided to give it a go now while pregnant with the second one and I love it! It fits nicely to the body, no need for bra, it holds breast really well, noticed my back feels better so it must be working well for me. Would definitely recommend it. I think its worth the money.

    This top provides amazing support. I've used them in all 4 of my pregnancies and they completely take away the agonising rib ache I get from 28 weeks. Also leave me with more energy at the end of the day and help to take weight of my pelvis. I highly recommend. I'm not even aware I'm wearing it, very smooth and comfortable.

    Very good supporting vests, which helps sustaining your growing belly and breasts however the quality of the material is not that good and after only a week it started showing the elastic around the arm and also it all cover in little fluffy dots all over. And it's only a month that I have got it.

    I thought I'd ordered too small a size when I first saw it but it fits fine - it stretches well and I think it needs to be tight to give the support. I think this has slightly helped with my back pain. When wearing maternity dresses, I particularly notice the extra support although not so much when wearing jeans with bump support. I do find it has a narrower neckline than many of my tops though so the straps can be seen.

    I was bought one of these as a gift, I'm a size 12 top and 10 waist, I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, I cannot wear bras or anything that fitted under the breast because I have costochondritis, the vest offered great support and I loved it, thought this is going to be my new support, it held my breast in place so they were not heavy and hurting, however I think they should have put extra material or pad around the breast area, because I struggle to hide my nipples through my clothing which can be embarrassing, another important thing you should take into account is getting the right size as these come very tiny an stretch on you like spandex, but the bottom is suppose to offer support for your bump its much thicker section underneath, I was admitted to hospital after collapsing, I didn't realise until being examined that the band under my bump was too tight and because I was sitting down at the time, it had cut off the oxygen to me and my baby, this is very serious, I had a medium and I am a 12 all my tops are a 12, I would definitely say get the next size up, the NYSE had to cut the bottom band of the vest and said nothing should b that tight under your bump, and that is what bump bands are for, these should be looked into and adjusted and sizes changed.

    I'm 26 weeks pregnant and normally a size 14 I ordered a medium in this but was to tight around the bottem of the vest so it dug in to my bump. Will return and get the large instead. Otherwise good quality

    This vest is great to sleep in, the fabric is really light and breathable (even on summer nights) whilst the ribbing offers support. However, the top rides up at the back and I'm only 20 weeks. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the design or if I should have ordered a larger size. My usual size would be a small, I'm tempted to order another top in medium but am going to wait until later in my pregnancy as I'm not sure if a larger size would be as supportive at this stage.

    During my first pregnancy I swore by these vests. This time around I'm a bigger bra size from the start (34G) and they don't seem quite so supportive - no surprise really! That said, I don't think you'll find anything better to sleep in, this vest offers good support for the tummy and vital containment for your boobs. I would not wear one of these during the day unless I had a much more modest bra size, but this is great for sleeping and lounging.

Maternity and Nursing Bras Size Guide

Choosing the right bra during your pregnancy can be confusing, which is why you’ll find everything you need to know here. No two women will be exactly the same throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding but the following guidelines will give you an idea of what you will need.

If your under bust measures: Your cup size will be:
28-29" 30-31" 32-33" 34-35" 36-37" 38-39"
Then your bra size will be:
32 34 36 38 40 42
Then if your across bust measures:
33-34" 35-36" 37-38" 39-40" 41-42" 43-44" B
34-35" 36-37" 38-39" 40-41" 42-43" 44-45" C
35-36" 37-38" 39-40" 41-42" 43-44" 45-46" D
36-37" 38-39" 40-41" 42-43" 44-45" 46-47" DD
37-38" 39-40" 41-42" 43-44" 45-46" 47-48" DDD/E

Once the milk comes in, the cup size will increase by at least one size, so nursing bras purchased before the birth should allow for this.

The rib cage size should reduce back to its pre-pregnant size within a few weeks of the birth – which is why nursing bras have so many back size adjustors. When trying a bra before the birth, ensure that the back is on one of the loosest fittings, to allow you to tighten it as your rib cage retracts after the birth.

The nursing bras that fit before and after the birth will possibly not fit a couple of months later once a breastfeeding pattern has been established. You may need to purchase smaller bras at this stage.
