We are working closely with several charities who will distribute our From a Mother to Another gift bags of donated clothes.
The Trussell Trust
"I am delighted Trussell Trust Foodbanks will be participating in the From a Mother to Another campaign with JoJo, it is a natural fit to The Trussell Trust’s ‘More Than Food’ approach, which offers additional services to help alleviate poverty in the UK. Over a third of three day emergency food supplies provided by Trussell Trust foodbanks go to children in crisis. From a Mother to Another is a perfect way for one mum to bring a little light and a lot of comfort to another." David McAuley, CEO.
The Trussell Trust is tackling hunger and poverty and run the largest network of UK foodbanks, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Thirteen million people live below the poverty line in the UK and one in five mums skip meals to feed their children. Everyday people go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. In 2014-15, The Trussell Trust’s 400-strong network of foodbanks provided 1,084,604 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis, with almost 400,000 of those supplies having gone to children.
foodbanks also offer a lot more than food. Trained volunteers provide a listening ear to clients over a warm drink, as well as signposting people to other charities and agencies who can help resolve the underlying cause of the crisis. These volunteers will be aware of parents in need who will benefit from receiving a From a Mother to Another gift bag for their child.
Our other charity partners in the UK, Ireland and abroad include:
Where can I drop off the clothes I want to donate?
All of JoJo’s boutiques will be collecting the gift packages. Click here to find your local store.
What sizes of clothes can I gift?
We are accepting clothes for sizes 0-6 years old only. Please do not donate larger sizes since we do not have a distribution network in place for older children.
What will happen to the clothes I gift?
Our warehouse team will check the items and send them on to our partner charities who will distribute them both in the UK, Ireland and The Middle East. Where necessary we will combine your donation with other items to make a practical selection of clothes.
I want to gift but I don’t have enough items to make up lovely outfits.
Why not group together with your friends to make full packages.
How many packs can I donate?
As many as you like, but should you wish to donate more than 10 outfits please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org as our stores have limited storage space.
Is it only JoJo clothes that you are accepting?
No, we will accept any of your clothes, as long as they are clean, in good condition and without any defects.
Why are you only collecting good quality clothes?
The partner charities we are working with love the fact that FAMTA emergency clothing packs contain good quality, nearly new clothes which may be handed down again and again. By ensuring the clothes are of good quality which will last, we are reducing waste and making sure that the cost of shipping and distribution is well spent.
