The light does have an on/off switch-even my 1.5 year old worked it out!

Bought two of these for my 1.5 & 3 year old boys. They love them. Just the right amount of light in their rooms and makes it easy to check on them through the night. I leave them on their nightstands. The on/off switch is great on the base. Highly recommend these.

Have had so many comments on our blue Barbapapa' - our little girl, now 4, has had it since aged 2 and adores it. It has withstood multiple knocks and is still in perfect working condition. It is sweet and also quite a soft feel plastic. Doesn't get hot at all with use either. Love it! Will be sad to pack it away when she outgrows it one day :-)

We bought a Barbapapa light and it immediately helped to settle our little boy who struggled with self-settling. Contrary to the first review, the light itself does have an off switch (on the base), so you can switch it off/on independent of the base. Like the picture, he'd fall asleep hugging it.

Didn't like the fact that the figure himself has no on/off switch. The only way to stop the thing from glowing once charged is to stand it on the stand and have it switched on at the mains. If you turn the mains electric off the figure starts to glow! grrrrr!
