This is a really beautiful kitchen, with nice little accessories. We bought it on sale (for £45) and I wouldn't have wanted to pay the full price based on other kitchens available on the market. It arrived quickly and the protective packaging is good. The assembly instructions aren't great (certainly not of IKEA standard) and the accuracy of the parts that fit together is not very good either, quite a lot of heaving and grunting to get them to fit in the right place. The plastic protective covering on the clear oven door had been applied before they screwed the door together, so it's nigh on impossible to get it off around the edges. The screws supplied for the little red knobs to hang the utensils and the tap are too big, so they have split the wood despite not being actually screwed on tight. Despite all this, we love it, and the boys love it.

Although a great looking product that my nephews really enjoyed for their Christmas present, I would not recommend.

The quality of the product was very poor:
    - It looked like it had been built before by somebody and taken apart (markings by screw hoels etc)
    - The hole for supporting the door was broken so I had to pack out to stop door hanging loose
    - Crack in the tap for the sink
    - Not big enough guide holes to screw in red hooks by hand, so had to drill myself

Overall - a very poor quality product and am expecting it won't be long before I get a report of something breaking on it (e.g. tap)

My little boy was so excited to open this for Christmas, until we had to put it together.... The sink tap split when we put the screw in, any other parts that had to be screwed in (handles, utensil and tea towel/oven mit hooks) are all extremely loose because the screws don't fit, they're too long for the holes. Some of the others don't line up properly and I am overall quite disappointed by the quality when you look at how much this kitchen is full price! I don't recommend this to anyone while these errors are in place- I think they need to relook at the manufacturing of the parts.
  • review score 5 A Field on 23 December 2015
This is a lovely looking product but unfortunately when trying to build it we found that one piece had been stuck upside down by the manufacturer and as a result a hole was in the wrong place meaning it was impossible to put together without getting a drill out. It's a big shame that after so many poor reviews JoJos haven't done more to ensure the quality of this product. In addition we had to get new screws for many of the knobs as the holes weren't big enough.

Absolutely disgusted with the quality of this item. Assembly was an absolute nightmare. Poor instructions and wrong parts, holes not deep enough or not matching up. I have made several flat pack pieces of furniture from ikea and mamas and papas, and although at times tricky- we managed fine! This is so disappointing. Busy assembling with my father (who has lots of experience in carpentry ) and I feel like crying. Thanks for nothing, jojomamanbebe.

Not out of the box yet but can't wait to put this together for our 18 month old daughter for Christmas Day. The delivery was really quick and I highly recommend.
  • review score 5 Sarah on 15 December 2015
We bought the kitchen for our little boy despite the mixed reviews as it was a bargain (half price), however as the negative reviews suggest it doesn't live up to the normal JoJo standard. The instructions are not difficult to follow but it definitely needs 2 people to construct as it's impossible to hold the panels whilst screwing them together. The materials are not of the usual JoJo standard and the screws and holes don't line up correctly and (when we finish it) will require a drill to make larger holes in order for the screws to fit, otherwise the panels / handles would not be fixed properly. Allow yourself plenty of time - we've been constructing it for 2 hours so far and still have lots to do!

To be honest if I am only rating this as 1 star because there is no option to rate it as 0!!

This product looks so good in the pictures however the reality is that it is a very, very cheaply made item that comes straight from a warehouse in China with seemingly no quality control.

We had issues from the very beginning with screws with filled in heads so we couldn't get the screwdriver in there. We then faced parts that didn't have holes drilled where they should have done. Parts that did have holes but didn't line up at all with the matching hole on the other section. We had hinges that wouldn't sit flush on the wood so the door wouldn't close properly. All in all it's a real mess.

Essentially this item is a branded version of the very cheap copies you can pick up on eBay however you pay almost £100.00 for the pleasure with JoJo. I would like to say that we were just unfortunate however we also ordered a storage unit which suffers from very similar issues and I would assume comes from the same company.

We're now sending back and going for the IKEA alternative which, I as said, is a pity as we really do prefer this one.

The worst flat pack furniture that I have assembled, holes did not line up and wood chipping. Marks on the wood, missing a screw

  • review score 1 Frankers on 21 November 2015
Absolutely shocking quality, looks second hand!!
Chips of wood out of nearly every piece. Poor painting, cooker knobs hanging off. Sink bent out of shape and won't sit in recess, Perspex door scratched. Saucepans marked with black and filthy inside.
Used my 50% off voucher to buy on line and wish I'd used it on something else!! And now I can't!!
What's more on returning I have to go to the trouble of uploading photos and waiting (until who knows when) they decide if they will bear the cost of me returning it!
If I could give the product no stars I would
    Terrible, do not buy....

We had a few problems with the kitchen (the wood cracked and holes weren't aligned) so we phoned customer service and spoke with Karen H. She helped us so much and couldn't have been more helpful, professional or polite. Great customer service from Karen H, thank you so much for all your help. :-). Fab kitchen too!

  • review score 3 James Bennett on 13 July 2015
Looks really nice but not the simplest thing to put together due to the scews included. the worktop also had one of the supporting struts drop off so I had to "no more nails" it back together. my little boy loves it but not sure how long it will last
  • review score 1 Ben on 06 May 2015
This is a review of both the kitchen & the customer service I have received or rather lack of it following putting together a faulty kitchen unit for my daughter. There was a couple of issues with the kitchen, one where one of the wooden shelves broke on the hinge which I had to glue back together and also 2 of the hooks were not drilled correctly meaning I had to find 2 much smaller screws to fit them. I have sent 1 message & another follow up email showing a picture I took of the faulty wood. I have never received a reply which I find very poor. I would rate the kitchen as 2 stars as it is serves a purpose but is poorly made & zero stars for the customer service

looks lovely, my son enjoys playing with it. however, was a total nightmare to assemble! my husband is great with DIY things but this was hard work for him. screws didn't fit properly, door didn't stay closed amongst other things which he has had to correct. apart from assembly problems we are very pleased with it.

Lovely kitchen, bought with the island and my son and daughter love playing with it and play together as plenty of space. Went together easily enough. seems sturdy.
  • review score 1 michelle on 31 March 2015
Really poor quality product - the hob parts come straight off. My son accidently walked into the door and the door came off and the wood all split.

JoJo Maman couldn't have been more unhelpful when I asked for replacement of the split wood part so now after 3 months I am left with a broken kitchen - spend your money elsewhere and get something of decent quality

We got this kitchen for our 18month old for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He likes turning the hobs (which click) and uses the kitchen almost every day. It took my husband about an hour to assemble but we were a bit disappointed with the tab as it is very loose and the little one managed to rip it off on first try. We might have to glue it on to prevent further damage. So overall a nice kitchen but with room for improvement.

This kitchen was a gift from grandparents for a 4 year old. Only had the kitchen for one day and already the door won't close properly and the tap on the sink seems very wobbly. Not very impressed with the quality, thought it would have lasted longer than a day considering how much it cost. Disappointed :-(
  • review score 2 Vaughan Harris on 21 December 2014
We bought this kitchen for our two boys for Christmas Day, and I'm glad I decided to put it up in advance. Overall the quality of the materials is ok, parts are covered MDF instead of solid wood which is a bit of a pain but I'm used to Ikea furniture so it's not too bad.

The care which has gone into the hole drilling and other prep is pretty poor unfortunately.

So far, the list of things wrong with it is:

    1. Bottom bracket hole drilled too big for supplied screw, needed to find own screw.
    2. Tap screw does not secure tap tightly so it just spins around and is poor.
    3. Door hinge holes drilled incorrectly (3 times) meaning hinges don't line up properly.
    4. Main red door chipped and marked on delivery.
    5. Part of the right-hand shelf which the door hinges into has broken off instantly so the door won't hinge. Glue is needed to fix.
    6. All holes for red handles (6 of them) not drilled large enough, meaning someone without a pair grips and a socket set is not going to be able to do them up without drilling the holes larger, or finding their own screws (again).

Overall the quality is pretty disappointing from Jojo's usually high standards.

Sweet kitchen, easy to put together, seems quite sturdy and nicely designed
  • review score 3 Lids matt on 01 December 2014
We were looking for a not too girly kitchen for our son and this fitted the bill. A few problems putting it together as some of the pieces needed adjusting so that they would fit correctly. Not the sturdiest of kitchens- the door has already broken off once and had to be repaired. That said, our son really enjoys playing with it.

The Farm House Kitchen we received is exactly like the picture! It is most attractive and by far the kitchen we have seen,BUT unfortunately the problems mentioned by many other customers in the past still exist... I was hoping that this new batch, which took a long time to come, would be faultless (the makers having taken on board the points raised) but it does not seem to be the case! The kitchen is still very difficult to build and my son-in-law,used to DIY,encountered quite a few problems... but it must be said that the customers service department was very helpful offering to replace the faulty tap and the glass panel. So next time I see my daughter the problems should be sorted out,but I cannot understand why the design is so good and the attention to detail lacking so much. Even things like the pegs for the spatulas are not as they should be: they remain very wobbly and cannot be tightened further, which is annoying... So,a beautiful kitchen, but with some problems!

I bought this kitchen for my 3 year old. I have a 16 month also. I would not recommend this kitchen for a household in which there are children under 3. It is not at all suitable for under 3s as the knobs will come off with barely a touch- on the doors, holding the utensils etc. This is a beautiful looking kitchen, but beware the reviews saying how sturdy it is, or those who purchased for under 3s. My 16 month old is a slightly built but tall child, and he made very light work of tearing off the taps...

I liked it because it was multi gender and I like to give my son equal opportunities it looks perfect in my home very hard wearing and sterdy. I'm also I childminder so it perfect for the little mindies i have told many parents to buy from this store perfect :) very happy indeed

The kitchen is lovely and my little boy absolutely loves it. It is generally really sturdy. The accessories that it comes with are great. A few negatives: some of the holes didn't line up when we were assembling it which means it's missing a few screws. Also the oven door was very badly scratched, despite it's protective covering. One of the utensil hooks also arrived broken. Jojo have promised to replace these but not until August as they don't have any spares until then which is a bit disappointing.

We bought this for our 18 month old little boy - he loves it. We are very pleased with it, after researching virtually every other kitchen available, we chose this for its simplicity and robustness. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. We have now also got the island unit, which is just as good.

Loved this so much when I bought for my daughter, I bought another for my niece! Looks so much nicer than anything else out there and a great price. Got the Island as well.

This is a beautiful looking kitchen which two children can play at comfortably together. It's a good height for toddlers. I consider myself reasonably ok at DIY but this took me around 2 hours (uninterrupted) to build. Once finished the doors are not particularly easy to open and close. We managed the alignment of them with some fiddling but the design of the latches is quite stiff. I'm hoping they will loosen a bit over time. Over all this is a great looking product and the kids like it but I did wonder if a less attractive plastic version might have been easier for the kids to use.

We brought this kitchen for my daughters Christmas present because we loved the design & thought it was great value for money. However having twice had to return it to the shop because of damaged parts we opted to pop to a certain Swedish furniture store
  • review score 0 Eve Cale on 13 January 2014
Would NOT recommend this product. We bought it for my son's Christmas present and spent 2 1/2 hours attempting to build it on Christmas Eve. Then we discovered that the doors wouldn't close properly as the holes drilled weren't aligned. Jojo sent us a replacement kitchen after Christmas admitting that there had been problems with the product however the replacement had the same issue and had some fixings missing! We have now had a full refund and compensation vouchers so to be fair to JoJo they have been good at sorting this out without quibbling. When I asked if the item would be remaining on sale knowing there were issues I was told that there have only been a small percentage of kitchens with problems so you might get lucky and get one that fits together, is it worth the risk?

  • review score 0 Alexis Fairley on 05 January 2014
Fantastic product...although some damage on arrival. I have had to build it despite damage, as it's my daughter's main birthday present for tomorrow, but have taken photos and contacted Jojo's.

Delivery was excellent, and assembly was relatively easy. Everything is labelled clearly, so very easy to follow instructions. I managed to build it on my own in about an hour and a half.

A couple of screws could be slightly better aligned, but this is the constant hazard of flat-packs!

My daughter will love it. It's the perfect height for her (age 2), and attention to detail is excellent. Knobs twist on the cooker etc!

Overall, very pleased with the product.

I bought this kitchen in October, as a Christmas present for my son, and glad I bought it so early as Jojo had to send me several replacement parts. The oven door was so badly scratched it looked like it had been finished with a brillo pad; some screw holes were misaligned or screws just turned and did not tighten; parts not listed in instructions; and the tap fitting split at the bottom (even the replacement tap did this). The wood used seemed flimsy and, although it is sturdy enough when assembled, I wonder how long it will last now that my toddler has been introduced to it. He constantly removes the hob plates and sink, and I wonder if they have been designed this way so they can be cleaned easily? Although this kitchen looks good, it is not up to the standard I have come to expect from Jojo and I think their manufacturers have let them down this time. On the plus side, I cannot fault Jojo's customer service team for dealing with my queries and sending out the replacement parts so quickly.

This is a lovely product, sturdy and attractive. My daughter is two and has loved playing with it for the few days she has had it. The accessories are sweet and the price is good compared to other wooden kitchen toys. However - assembly was tough. The instructions were useless and it took two of us over an hour, at times it was unclear which way pieces should be fitted so we had to take sections apart which was frustrating. Not recommended for anyone who needs something quick and easy to set up.
  • review score 0 Dan on 30 December 2013
Thought this would be a great xmas present for my daughter. The problem with putting it together was that the doors on the front did not close when using the pre drilled holes as they were not in the correct position so had to screw holes myself so the doors lined up correctly. Even now the doors are too tight and my daughter cannot open/close with ease. The look of the kitchen is fantastic but the instructions and pre drilled holes make this very difficult to put together. I would rate it as a 5/10

I purchased this kitchen for my 27 month old son for Christmas. I'm really pleased with it, it's good quality and very attractive, it's just the right height for my son. He has played with it non stop so far. He loves the oven glove and uses it every time he opens the oven door and tells people to stand back, it's great to see him enjoy it so much. I would definitely recommend this product.

This product is poor. Many of the pieces don't fit together properly. The instructions are inaccurate. Some of the timber pieces split when screws were inserted. Glue is needed but not included. It looks good when assembled but I am not reassured it will last long-term. A disappointing purchase overall.
  • review score 0 Andy on 24 December 2013
Good quality product, with reasonable instructions, with the only "common sense" areas needed on the door latches (wrong way around on instructions) and hinge grommets (need to use all 4 as opposed to only 1 on diagram)....can't wait yo see 2yr old daughters face on Christmas Day!
  • review score 0 Carly on 24 December 2013
Quick delivery. Fairly easy to build when following the instructions. Unfortunately ours came missing the clock hands so i need to ring up and have one sent out! Also two holes for the lugs had not been pre-drilled, luckily my dad is pretty handy with a drill so sorted that out for me! The screw hole that the tap attatches to is also not quite in line so tap is a little wobbly! As someone else said, the oven door is a little scratched. Feels very sturdy and does look nice all built once over a few issues!
  • review score 0 Abi on 22 December 2013
Shocking! Where do I start??!! Lots of chips, scuffs and poor paint quality! A couple of the pre-drilled holes in the wrong places. The tap is loose, and the hob rings and sink will need to be fastened in place. Really was a faff to put together due to poor design of kitchen! You really do need two pairs of hands to make it! If it wasn't so close to Xmas then we would have returned it, but obviously need to give our daughter a present she wants at Xmas! Would have expected better quality!

The kitchen flat pack arrived promptly and was reasonably easy to put together (with 2 pairs of hands). It was rather worrying to have 4 rubber pieces, which were not mentioned anywhere in the assembly instructions, left over at the end, but the kitchen is sturdy and looks lovely. We'll probably fix the cooking plates and sink in position, as they come out rather easily.

We got the farmhouse kitchen for our 3 year old son for this Christmas. We haven't yet assembled it but it was such good value for money being a wooden kitchen. You can pay the same amount for a plastic one! We were also really pleased that for the price it included utensils, 2 pots, tea towel and oven gloves. Can't wait to see his face Christmas morning! Just wish he could cook the Christmas dinner :)
  • review score 0 Frances on 13 November 2013
Super little kitchen which I think my 2 year old son will love for Christmas. Came flat packed but didn't take long for my husband to build. Only negative was that the oven door which is clear plastic was scratched badly when it arrived and 1 of the screw holes were too big for the screw so we found a bigger screw from our toolbox. Neither issue is a biggy and overall we are very pleased with the kitchen. It seems very sturdy and well made, hopefully it will last many years.
