This year’s B Corp Month is drawing to close, and we hope you’ve learned a bit more about what it means to be a Better Corporation. Part of the movement is to champion other B Corps who are working to collectively put people and the planet above profit – here are a few of our favourites.
Mindful Chef, the UK’s highest-rated recipe box became a B Corp in 2018. Their mission is to supply ethically and sustainably sourced food, empower people to live healthier lives and help reduce our impact on the environment by tackling food waste. In 2021, they collected 157,860 litres of rubbish from coasts, donated nearly 200,000 meals to The Felix Project and launched a low carbon range of recipes, with the aim of becoming Net Zero by 2030.
We’re thrilled to be partnering directly with Mindful Chef and have just launched a selection of their meal bundles available for our customers to purchase – perfect for busy new parents looking for vibrant, nutritious meals that are super simple and quick to prepare.
Teapigs was started in 2006 as a mission to get the UK drinking real tea again, at a time when proper coffee was enjoying an explosion in popularity and tea…not so much. Co-founders Nick and Lou (former employees of Tetley) are obsessive about making amazing tea accessible to consumers in a sustainable and ethical way, which is why Teapigs became a certified B Corp in 2019.
Becoming a B Corp in 2019, coconut water brand Vita Coco works hard to positively impact coconut farming communities around the world. Through their give, grow, guide philosophy, they work to help their coconut farmers increase their annual yield, diversify their crops and grow their coconuts sustainably. They also provide educational programmes in order to invest in the future generations of these communities.
Not only does it look great and perform brilliantly, when you buy an Ocean Bottle, you’re funding the collection of the equivalent of 1000 ocean-bound plastic bottles before it reaches the water, which is then recycled. This collection provides a sustainable living for people in coastal communities, so together we can work towards reducing the amount of plastic that ends up in our oceans. What’s more, each time you refill an Ocean Bottle at a partner location, even more plastic collection is funded.
Not only does Divine produce some of the most delicious chocolate we’ve tasted, it is also a global social enterprise driven by a mission to help end exploitation in the cocoa industry, creating a world where farmers prosper. That’s why a co-operative of 100,000 cocoa farmers in Ghana co-own Divine Chocolate. Their stake in the brand is a first – but hopefully not the last – in the Fairtrade world.
