JoJo is proud to be part of the
B Corp Community

What is a Certified B Corp?

B Corps (Better Corporations) are a community of organisations aiming to demonstrate their positive impact on people and the planet as well as profit.

What does being a B Corp mean to JoJo?

At JoJo we’re a medium sized organisation with a small business ethos, we believe in offering high quality products at reasonable prices and putting people and the planet above profit.

Everyone is Welcome at JoJo

Many years ago, we embraced the idea from our Brighton store to offer work placements to individuals with Down’s Syndrome and are proud to have several long-term employees. We are also inclusive with our child models and embrace diversity whenever possible. We represent as many gorgeous babies and children as we can!

Working to Reduce our Carbon Footprint & Supporting the Local Community

We love our beautiful planet and want to preserve it for the next generation. We design wooden toys made from a sustainable source that are built for longevity, as well as using fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles. We also work closely with The Trussell Trust, a network of foodbanks during our renowned From a Mother to Another hand me down initiative in the UK.

Supporting Charities both at Home & Away

Supporting Charities both
at Home & Away

We support dozens of local charities in the communities around our stores, but our focus is on our house charity, Nema Foundation. Based in rural Northern Mozambique, Nema works to relieve child poverty via health, education, sanitation and enterprise projects.

JoJo handles the charity accounts, covers much of the governance and charity overheads as well as funding numerous projects. Working with 16 communities, we have built 5 schools, providing secondary scholarships and running two ambulances. Despite the current climate crisis setbacks, we aim to build a local hospital that will serve the communities.

Respecting Our Suppliers Across The Developing World

Respecting our Suppliers
Across the World

We are loyal to our suppliers and help them grow their businesses in an ethical and honest way. Some of the factories we work with have been supplying us for nearly 20 years and without them we wouldn’t be able to create such wonderful garments.

Encouraging Education & Advancement Amongst our Teams

We believe in a non-hierarchical culture, where individuals from all levels feel free to come forward with ideas which are listened to. We have various apprenticeships in place and recently trained additional JoJo team members as Mental Health Aiders.

Legacy

As a B Corp we make a legal pledge that these values are embedded for longevity. This secures the business as a legacy to our roots, safeguarding the future. The B Corp logo will be added to our products, printed material and packaging – phasing it in so that all our consumers across the world know about our values via one little logo.
