The crunch of fallen leaves. Misty breath in the air and chilly red cheeks… Outside adventures during the colder season can be the most magical, mystical time of the year. Whether it’s rainy, cloudy, blowy or snowy, getting the family outside for some fresh air and playtime is a day well spent.

Whether you want to start new family traditions, keep up the annual Boxing Day walk, make the most out of cold crisp days or shake off being cooped up inside, we’ve listed our top outdoor activities to encourage everyone outdoors. Thanks to the famous bear Winnie-the-Pooh for creating this action-packed game. Little ones especially will feel the thrill of getting involved, and it’s simple. First, find your favourite stick. Next up, find a bridge with a river running under it and line up to one side. take the opportunity to snap a family photo here. Then, on the count of 3, everyone drops their sticks into the river in the hopes that their stick floats to the other side of the river first. Competitive mode and multiple rounds? Tick.

Indoor Activities for Kids in Winter

It’s time to head home, dry off and get cosy. Switch the coats and wellies for fuzzy slippers and dressing gowns and fuel up on hot chocolate. So, bundle up in blankets and put on the cosiest clothes you can find, it’s time to enjoy the little home comforts - this could look like:
